Dan Ackerman, Founder & CEO

Daniel J. Ackerman brings over 15 years of dedicated experience in Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), with a specialized focus on Management and Operations. Dan's extensive career path includes over a decade of service at one of New York City's largest BIDs, the Alliance for Downtown New York. In this capacity, he managed a budget of $20 million, with a notable 50% dedicated to Outdoor Operations.

During his tenure at the Alliance for Downtown New York, Dan held pivotal leadership roles, including Chief of Staff, Vice President of Operations and Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration. His multifaceted experience has endowed him with a deep understanding of the intricate workings of BIDs, from strategic financial management to operational efficiency.

Dan's expertise extends beyond his tenure at the Alliance. He has seamlessly transitioned to the consulting realm, collaborating with Commercial District Services, LLC, where he oversaw nine sanitation contracts and the management of four distinct improvement districts. Dan served as the Interim Executive Director of the Hoboken Business Alliance in 2022 and continues to support the HBA today. This experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the nuances and challenges inherent in BID management.

Dan's skill set encompasses a broad spectrum of competencies, ranging from recruitment and performance evaluation to quality control management, restructuring, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. His proactive approach to problem-solving, coupled with his ability to leverage stakeholder feedback, has consistently driven tangible results and enhanced operational effectiveness in diverse BID environments.
